The door was open on that one the other day - looks like its been taken over as as a warden type/council office, some official was down there and it looks like thats were he hangs his jacket!!  They have opened the ice cream hut next to the paddling pool - but I was there for an hour before I realised it was open as I was sat on the other side of the pool and they had all the shutters closed except the door!!

Believe it or not the Seaboard Section of the Conwy Harbur Authority does have responsibility for the beaches the Morfa, Penmaenmawr and Llanfairfechan. Specifically:
Facilitate the safety and enjoyment of all visitors to the coastline
Police and enforce relevant bye-laws relating to all areas
Assist the general public when and where required
Provide basic First Aid cover at main promenades
Issue permits for events on promenades, beaches and foreshores liaising with organisers with regard to safety, risk assessment and licensing
Control and monitor the launching of all types of craft and general water activities, including checking insurance and safety equipment
Co-ordinate applications for Blue Flag and Seaside Awards, ensuring that the criteria are maintained
Provide and maintain all safety equipment along the coastline and up the Conwy Valley to Betws-y-Coed
Work with other Council departments with regard to the maintenance and cleanliness of all promenade, beach and foreshore areas.
How much evidence there is that these responsibilities are taken seriously, I wouldn't know but regarding the dog (or even horse) issue what action they can take depends on the local bye-laws controlling dogs on the beach. Many popular beaches now completely ban dogs during the busy holiday season but it would be sad if you couldn't run your dog out on the sands close to the sea at low tide. The promenade may well be covered by the laws concerning dog nuisance and fouling of streets. Dogs used only to be allowed on the promenade on a lead.
The Seaboard Section is on the main Harbour office number of 01492 596253.
